Joe Dispenza vs Abraham-Hicks
Both say your inner state creates your outer life. They ask very different things of you.
- Dispenza
- Long daily meditation to rehearse a new self. Scientific language
- Hicks
- Reach for a better-feeling thought through the day. Spiritual language
- Time required
- Dispenza: an hour or more a day. Hicks: as much as you like
- Cost
- Both have inexpensive books. Dispenza's retreats are the costly end. Much of Hicks is free online
- Choose Dispenza if
- You want a disciplined practice and like structure
- Choose Hicks if
- You are worn out from trying hard and need to ease off
The real difference
Dispenza is effort. You sit, you practise, you repeat until the body believes it. Hicks is release. You stop pushing against what you do not want and let your mood rise a step at a time.
What neither gives you
A way to check your work. Neither offers a clear measure of where you stand on a particular goal, or a direct method for the specific thought that opposes it.

The verdict
They combine well. Hicks for the day, Dispenza for the hour you set aside. For a method with steps, add a structured course.
