What she teaches
Byrne is a compiler and populariser. She discovered the idea in Wallace Wattles' 1910 book The Science of Getting Rich, interviewed living teachers and cut their answers into a single clear message. Later books add gratitude practice (The Magic), love as the driving force (The Power) and a turn toward spiritual awareness (The Greatest Secret).
What she sells
Books at ordinary prices. There are no high-ticket programs, which is to her credit.
Where it stops
At the formula. The Secret is the most successful introduction this subject has had and the thinnest on method. It is also the source of the criticism the field hears most: that it encourages wishing without doing.
The verdict
Watch the film as a starting point. The Magic is her most practical book. Then move on to a teacher who covers technique.
