What he teaches
Canfield's contribution to The Secret is the story of visualising a six-figure income when he was earning a small fraction of that. His wider body of work is more grounded than the film suggests. The Success Principles is a long, organised list of habits: set measurable goals, ask for what you want, respond differently to events, keep going.
What he sells
The book is the value buy and covers most of what the courses teach. Above it sit online programs, multi-day live trainings and a certification for people who want to teach his method.
Where it stops
Canfield is a generalist. You get sixty-odd sound principles and little depth on any single one. Readers who need a system for the inner side of achievement, why they set a goal and then act against it, will find it mentioned and not solved.
The verdict
The safest recommendation in the field for a beginner. Buy the book, apply three chapters, and see what moves. The certification only makes sense if you plan to coach.
